Bernat Daviu’s practice encompasses painting, costume design, performance and video.
Elements of his everyday, which include or have included Ikea mirrors, cocktails in fancy art events, his colleagues, stuffed olives, emojis or traditions and local sayings from his village, become entangled with the visual language of the historical avant-garde. Daviu often connects the symbols of this vibrant, revolutionary, utopian and ambitious past with the now. As a result of these relationships emerge situations that explore the potential of visual culture to generate conflicting imagery; situations that oscillate
between the absurd, the romantic and the ironic.

Bernat Daviu also runs the project space Passatge Studio
